Representations of a problem-based lesson that leads to the Tangent Segments Theorem which states that if a circle is tangent to two intersecting lines, the points of tangency are equidistant from the point of intersection of the lines. By working on the problem of finding a circle tangent to two intersecting lines, students are led to see that the points of tangency must be equidistant from the intersection of the lines
