Product Description
Each of the eight SMP modules supports the learning of one of the Standards for Mathematical Practice and consists of 3 parts (of 20-40 min duration each). Built on theories of practice-based professional development, every module includes opportunities to engage with representations of instructional practice, collectively learn to notice critical moves for supporting the SMP within such representations, practice critical moves with their own students in their own classrooms, and ultimately share their practice with peers and facilitators in order to receive feedback for improvement.
The Premium version of the SMP Modules are well-suited for schools, districts, or other educational institutions that wish to provide a coherent, collaborative online professional development for groups of 5 teachers or more. In addition to all of the interactive experiences in the Lite program, the Premium package also includes professional cohort-based facilitation, technical support, detailed user participation reports and analytics, and sandboxed discussion and collaboration spaces in which teachers in your institution can speak candidly and privately about the particular challenges of implementing the Standards for Mathematical Practice in your own community or context. After the completion of the modules, these private discussion spaces will remain archived and can be reopened if you decide to enroll additional teachers in the program in the future.
